The Yves Bridal Rose, known as イヴブライダル in Japanese, is a hybrid tea rose introduced in 2009 by the Saga Rose Association in Japan. This variety features a unique salmon-pink hue with slightly deeper-colored petal edges, giving it a soft and romantic appearance, reminiscent of classic bridal aesthetics.
The Yves Bridal Rose grows to a height of approximately 120 cm, with large blooms measuring 11 cm in diameter. The flower shape is consistent with the Yves Piaget rose series, exhibiting lush, full blooms with a high petal count. However, unlike its aromatic predecessors in the Yves series, this variety is nearly fragrance-free, which has sparked debates about whether it truly belongs to the Yves lineage.
While the plant structure and bloom formation are visually appealing, the Yves Bridal Rose has certain drawbacks. It is somewhat challenging to cultivate, with slow growth, difficulty in opening blooms, and weak repeat blooming performance. Additionally, high temperatures can cause the petals to appear scorched, reducing their aesthetic appeal. However, it does have a high success rate in propagation through cuttings.
