The Impressionist was bred by John Clements (USA, 2000). It is also known as CLEpAlnter.
The "Impressionist" rose is a large climbing variety, reaching a height of 250–360 cm. The flowers have an average diameter of about 10 cm and range in color from yellow to pumpkin orange. Each bloom can have up to 100 petals and emits a medium-strength myrrh fragrance. This variety is heat- and rain-tolerant and blooms primarily in a single season, with a spectacular display in spring and occasional rebloom in autumn.
The "Impressionist" grows vigorously, with stiff, upright canes and excellent vertical growth. While its disease resistance is average, it is not particularly susceptible to pests like aphids.
This variety is a hybrid descendant of the English rose "Graham Thomas" and other rose varieties.
