Freedom (also known as Tan97544) is a renowned hybrid tea rose bred by Tantau of Germany in 1997 and released in 2001. With its luxurious deep red blooms and velvety petal texture, this cut flower variety delivers timeless elegance and emotional power. Each flower features 45 to 55 robust petals, forming a high-centered cup similar to the popular 'Carola', but with a more intense color and firmer texture. Although lightly fragrant, its dramatic presence more than makes up for the subtle scent. Freedom rose excels in high-heat environments, showing excellent sun and rain resistance thanks to its thick, durable petals. The upright plant grows slowly but strongly, with firm, thorny stems and good resistance to black spot and powdery mildew.
